Monera (ancient Greek “μονήρης” – “single, solitary”) or unirema (Latin “uniremis” from “unus” – “one” and “remus” – “paddle”) is a combat rowing deckless (sailing) ship with one row of paddles. Monera were used in the fleets of ancient Greek polises but this one is made of iron and serves as a bridge in the Ayia Napa Sculpture and Cactus Park.
